Sales Charges

BB&T Funds are available in three different share classes, which offer investors three distinct sales charge schedules. For example, Class A Shares have an upfront sales charge, while Class B Shares have a contingent deferred sales charge.

To understand the key differences, please read the features of each share class explained in the table below. Your Investment Professional can help you chose the share class that best fits your investment timeframe and personal preference.

  • No sales charges for money market funds
  • Distribution and service (12b-1) fees of 0.50% of average daily net assets. The Fund's Distributor has contractually agreed to limit the distribution and shareholder service (12b-1) fees for Class A shares of the Fund to 0.25% for the period from February 1, 2010 through January 31, 2011.
  • Would rather pay a sales charge when you originally invest instead of at withdrawal time
  • Want the lowest annual expense schedule available
CLASS B

Effective June 1, 2009 the option to purchase Class B Shares of the BB&T Funds was closed to new investments.

If you hold Class B shares on or after June 1, 2009, you may:

  • Continue as a Class B share shareholder
  • Continue to reinvest dividends and distributions into Class B shares
  • Exchange your Class B shares for Class B shares of other funds within the BB&T family of funds, as permitted by existing exchange privileges

For additional information, contact your investment professional or call 1-800-228-1872, option 1.

  • Prefer not to pay a sales charge when you originally invest
  • Want to put all your money to work for you immediately

Features:

  • No front-end sales charges

  • A contingent deferred sales charge (CDSC) of 1.00% if you sell your shares before the first anniversary
